Backed By Bees is a Burlington apiary and meadery that keeps bees, brews honey soda and sustainable honey wine, and produces raw honey and hive products. From their farm at 6214 Appleby Line, they grow and curate local food while supporting biodiversity through the pollination of tens of thousands of acres of Ontario land.

The Allison family began farming six generations ago in Cooksville and relocated to Halton Hills in 1967; William and Isla Allison opened the farm market in 1975. Bob Allison still harvests the farm's sweet corn and pumpkins and runs the market alongside his children.

From a 150-year-old farm in Sayers Mills (North Milton), Hex 1847 Cider crafts rustic small-batch cider with no extra additives, using Ontario apples plus maple syrup, birch syrup and honey from the farm. The cider is brewed inside a six-sided building called The Hex.
