Coati Fine Chocolate is the Hamilton-Wentworth region’s first artisanal bean-to-bar chocolate shop, proudly operating from the Hamilton Farmers’ Market since October 2023. Every bar starts with Fair Trade or Direct Trade cocoa beans sourced from around the world, then roasted, refined, and handcrafted entirely on-site. Coati’s lineup includes single origin bars, bonbons, and a variety of confections made without artificial additives, soy, or gluten—many featuring certified organic ingredients. “I’m incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received from the Hamilton community. We are a gourmet and medicinal mushroom farm located just outside Elmira, ON. The entire growing process entirely in house, from liquid cultures to finished mushrooms. Nonno’s Plant-Based Butcher is a deli shop at the Hamilton Farmers’ Market that offers a unique take on traditional Italian-style sandwiches, all completely meat- and dairy-free. Indonesian’s Flavour started during the pandemic in 2020, which began with pre-ordered deliveries and occasional pop-ups and festivals. In 2023, they found their first permanent home at the Hamilton Farmers’ Market. Known for their high-quality, MSG-free meals made fresh to order, they offer a range of classic Indonesian dishes like Mie Goreng, Nasi Goreng, Beef Rendang, and more—along with vegetarian and vegan options. “At Indonesian’s Flavour, we started with a love for good food and genuine connection. Chaton Hamilton is a French-style bakery located inside the Hamilton Farmers’ Market, known for its handmade pastries, croissants, brioche, and other classic baked goods. Founded by pastry chef Anna Warunkiewicz, who moved to Hamilton in 2021 after working in some of Toronto’s top restaurants. Bringing the charm and flavour of a French café to the heart of the city. Every item is made fresh daily using traditional techniques and high-quality ingredients, with seasonal specials inspired by local offerings. The name “Chaton,” meaning kitten in French, is both a term of endearment and a quiet nod to the local Tiger-Cats team. “I wanted to bring beautiful, traditional French pastries to downtown Hamilton. After moving here in 2021 and falling in love with the city, I saw an opportunity to plant roots and share my passion for pastry. Everything we make—from our croissants to our Madeleines—is baked fresh with care and lots of butter. I believe in quality, technique, and the joy a great pastry can bring. Founded in 1959 by Sam and Carmela Buscarino, Sam’s Cheese & Meats has proudly served the Hamilton community for the past 60 years as part of the Hamilton Farmers’ Market. In 1988, Sam’s daughters, Pierina Legedza and Lina Holstein took over the family business and proudly operate it with their children who are the third generation. Today, as a long-term vendor in the Hamilton Farmers’ Market they pride themselves on meeting the diverse needs of their many customers and are the supplier to many Hamilton restaurants.
